  2. Tim Schafer's uses Kick Starter to fund an adventure game

Amazingly this was only posted today, they’re almost at their goal. I view this as a fine chance to help fund a game from an amazing development team, pretty much a pre-order.

  3. Some guy's tiny super computer

Some guy made a water cooled graphics card and processor with enough power to play anything you want in a tiny form factor.

  8. Update on 3DS post

To be clear in my original article and the response to a question. There is going to be a new version of the 3DS with dual circle-pads AND there is going to be an add-on for the current 3DS to upgrade it to dual circle-pads (much like the Wii-motion plus add-on in some sense).

  9. bluehairghost asked: Wrong, About that 3ds post, That wioll be an attachment, Requirfed to play a few games such as monster hunter, it won`t be a new console. Do your research before saying stuff like that, before i saw the images i almost had a heart attack,it`still worth buying it, but I think there will be bundles for the 3ds which will include the attachment

Well I didn’t say it was a new console, I was saying there is going to be a new revision. Currently it is not a requirement and will be adopted by a few games when the add-on hits the market; but Nintendo is going to be releasing a new version of the 3DS that will have dual circle-pads.

Does this mean that people who refuse to get the add-on will be left in the dust? No not entirely; but if you think about how dual joysticks changed how many games are played for the better… the playstation 2, 3 controller, the xbox, xbox 360 and Wii U and Vita. I can imagine many non-casual games coming out afterwards (when the new version of the 3DS launches, but not when the add-on for the current gen 3DS) that will not require the use of dual circle-pads and at the same time I can imagine many more games requiring it.

  10. Don’t buy a hard drive right now

Moderately old news, but still relevant if you’re out of the loop.

Essentially there was a huge devastating flood in Thailand which not only affected the hard drive industry but the people as well.

In regards to hard drives (the stuff you store your computer data on) Western Digital is responsible for roughly 60 percent of the world supply of hard drives, because of the flood WD’s factories are out of commission and their current stock is under a few feet of water. As a consequence, the sudden shortage of hard drives in the world market is inflating the prices rapidly.

If you were lucky or got off the fence about buying a hard drive and purchased one at old market price (bought a 3TB external USB 3.0) at a cool $120 CAD, whereas now you can find the exact same drive for roughly $240 CAD. Despite the estimated 20-30 percent price hike from Western Digital, this is not stopping retailers from jacking up the price even higher. Western Digital estimates that they will not be able to keep up with the current demand for at least a year, previous estimates were half a year.

So if you were thinking about getting a new hard drive I would think about a couple things: do you really need it right now or can you wait a year? Is it possible to sort/delete your current files to make space?
